Customizing your Corrective Action Report


To customize a field in your Corrective Action Report, hover next to the field name and click the pencil icon. This lets you change the label to better suit your organization’s needs.



Your Corrective Action Report can also be customized within Team Settings. For more information,

click here.


Within Team Settings, you can: 

  • Change the module name and icon
  • Update e-signature settings
  • Modify the abbreviation in the list view
  • Hide or require specific fields

Creating a Corrective Action Report


Step #1

Click here to access the "CAPA" sub-menu.

Step #2

Click "Corrective Actions".

Step #3

Click "Create a Corrective Action Report".

Step #4

Complete the "Administrative Details" section by completing the following fields:

  • Job #
  • Batch Number
  • Target Completion Date

Step #5

Complete the "Owners" section by completing the following fields:

  • Owners (those who can edit the report)
  • Subscribers (those who can only view the report)
  • Process Owners
  • QA Reviewers
  • Departments


Step #6

Complete the "Source, Type and Disposition" section by completing the following fields:

  • Source
  • CAR Type
  • Date Opened

Step #7

Click "Create Corrective Action Report" to save your progress.

Step #8

Enter in applicable "Batch Record" details.

Step #9

Complete the "Description" section by completing the following fields:

  • Error Code
  • Date Completed
  • Assignee
  • Description
  • Immediate Action


Step #10

Complete the Root Cause Analysis by completing the following fields:

  • Date Root Cause Occurred 
  • Description
  • Perform a 5-Why Analysis and/or Fishbone Analysis

Step #11

Click "Add a Preventative Action" and add as many as needed.

Step #12

Assign tasks to users using the "Implementation Plan" section.


Step #13

Assign pre-set tasks to users using the "Control System Updates" section.

Step #14

Complete the "Verification Actions" section by completing the following fields:

  • Preventative Action Effective?
  • Due Date
  • Description

Step #15

Complete the "Processes Affected" section by completing the following fields:

  • Cost of Quality ($)
  • Effect on Other Processes

Step #16

Complete the "Approval (Quality and Process Owner) section by adding the following approvals and/or rejections:

  • Process Owner
  • Quality Inspector

Step #17

Click "Save & Close" to finalize the report.
