Searching for and Downloading Files in OneDrive

Use the OneDrive integration to quickly locate and download files stored in your OneDrive account.

Procedure

  1. Open the OneDrive integration.

  2. Enter the file name, or part of the file name, in the search field.

  3. Select the file from the search results.

  4. Download the file as needed.

Troubleshooting Search Results

If you cannot locate a file using search:

  • Verify that the file name is spelled correctly.

  • Try searching with only part of the file name.

  • Files stored within nested folders may not appear in search results immediately.

  • Files located in shared folders or pinned folders may not appear in general search results.

When a file cannot be found through search, use the folder view to navigate manually through the folder structure until you locate the file. Once found, the file can be downloaded normally.

Best Practices

  • Use the exact file name whenever possible for the most accurate search results.

  • If search does not return the expected file, switch to folder navigation.

  • Review shared and pinned folders carefully, particularly for files provided by other users.

  • Confirm that you have the appropriate permissions to access the file in OneDrive if it does not appear in search or folder navigation.
